Rich in magnesium, silica, potassium and calcium, Rhassoul clay is an excellent multi-purpose clay that is often over shadowed by the popularity of Bentonite clay. Mined from the Moroccan Atlas Mountains this reddish-brown clay has been used for hygiene for over 1200 years. It also goes by the names Red Clay, Red Moroccan Clay, Ghassoul Clay and Oxide Clay, and is formed as a result of natural geothermal processes and volcanic activity. It is effective because it has a strong negative charge and high absorption rate so it carries away toxins, impurities, heavy metals, chemicals, and excess sebum (skin oil) while leaving a soft, clean skin surface.

Benefits on your Skin

Rhassoul clay has an ability to absorb impurities from hair and skin that can only be matched by Bentonite clay. The big difference is Rhassoul does it while leaving your skin and or hair soft and very moisturized.

Rhassoul removes oil from around and in hair follicles as well as excess surface oil resulting in the unblocking and removal of acne as well as those pesky blackheads. Even after only a single use the individual will likely notice less of an oily shine on their skin surface. If you have dry skin it will lessen dryness and flakiness all while enhancing skin clarity, texture and elasticity.

Another massive benefit is this clay allows for less of a reliance on deodorants and moisturizers due to its natural deodorizing and emollient effect.

Benefits on your Hair

Just as it can help the skin on your body Rhassoul clay can also do great things for your scalp and hair. Expect a better nourished scalp and healthier follicles, which will relieve those people with dry and dandruff-prone scalps or those individuals that get itchiness caused by a sensitivity to the chemicals in soap, shampoo, and conditioners.

Rhassoul clay cleans your hair while leaving behind shine and tons of volume. As an added bonus it also reduces the frequency you need to wash your hair.

We are huge fans of Rhassoul clay and use it in many of our products such as Primitive Outposts Beard Balm, and  Hair Clay.

Silky smooth skin all over as well as clean, healthy hair with lots of body and shine. What's not to like?
