So by now most people that are regulars here at Primitive Outpost know we love natural products and a more natural lifestyle. We are always looking for new things to try out even if it doesn't fall into any of the categories that we sell products for. Recently we have noticed a new trend that is very much natural and at the same time very exciting! That trend is hemp derived CBD oil and the products that go with it. At first we noticed mostly oils that are consumed and help with a massive amount of health issues. As we looked into in more and more we noticed many doctors and scientists coming on board with it. This created more studies which backed the initial findings and also found additional ailments that it can help with. Needless to say we are impressed. Then what we noticed was a shift or diversification of the compounds use as many skin care companies started showing up touting the benefits of using hemp cbd topically in skin care and beauty products. If you look into what the oil is and how it works you'll soon see why so many people and companies are excited. Hemp derived CBD skin care products are a real thing and are gaining in popularity at an amazing rate. have a great assortment of all things CBD. Look good and feel great, literally.

What is CBD?

CBD aka cannabidiol is just one of over 80 compounds extracted from the hemp plant. Most people already know about THC which is the cannabinoid that gets you high but like CBD it is just one part of many in these plants. The interesting thing about hemp is that it is rich in CBD which is non-psychoactive and low in THC. CBD doesn't get you high due to its very low THC content (less than 0.3%) but offers huge wellness benefits.

Interestingly enough our body has an entire endo-cannabinoid system (receptors) in place that reacts and utilizes these compounds. CBD raises the levels of naturally produced cannabinoids within our bodies that help in a variety of ways. Anandamide is one such chemical and has amazing anti-inflammatory effects. From pain to epilepsy to MS to cancer, CBD is finding its way into a great many peoples homes, especially considering it's natural.

Why CBD in Skin Care?

In skin care the most appealing characteristics of hemp CBD are it's analgesic and anti-inflammatory abilities. It's being proven to help with things such as eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and acne. It's also effective treating wrinkles and aging signs. Once again, and my favorite part of this is that it's a natural treatment.

The more I talk about this the more I find myself thinking it might be a good fit for the Primitive Outpost line of products. Maybe someday soon it'll show up on our site.
